What the rules say
Visa required for study camps
Indonesia is covered by China’s 240-hour (10-day) transit visa-free policy when you hold a confirmed onward ticket to a third country/region and meet NIA conditions. That transit window is usually too short and purpose-limited for a dedicated study camp — plan a proper visa for camp stays.
Border inspection may ask for proof matching your purpose (invitation, tickets, accommodation). Carry camp confirmation and flight bookings.
Visa-free entry does not cover work, degree study, or news reporting — those need the matching visa in advance.
What this means for DXJ camps
Indonesian ordinary-passport holders are not on China’s unilateral 30-day visa-free list, and the China–Indonesia mutual exemption covers diplomatic/service passports only — not ordinary passports for study camps. Apply for the appropriate visa before travel; DXJ assists with invitation letters and pre-departure guidance.
